Well you could not have had a better day for our August club ride weather wise, it felt like a spring day. Great turnout too, good to see some new riders.
With everyone keen to get on their bikes we had a quick briefing and Steve gave us a run down of what we will be doing. First up heading along some forestry roads then following a ridge line climbing rather quickly with
shaded spots still slightly frozen and some sun strike in your eyes making it challenging. Some of the club split up near the top and there was a good warm up section with loose shingle and big rocks to keep you on your toes.
After joining back up we stopped for our first hill climb which seen a bit of carnage including Johnny's nice shinny Akrapovic wearing the brunt of a tumble, then following some great flowing trails and dropping down to a hut for
a breather.
The club split with a few trying a crazy track up the back of the Takkies which we will go back another day to beat, back to the cars around two o'clock for late lunch and some more gas.
With everyone re-energized we headed for Snake Gully for a hill climb with a great run up but some big kickers that could send you back down just as fast as you come up. The boys put on a great show with Russell and Luke both
completely flipping there bikes on the hill with a passion and came out unsaved.
After this we went back to the cars for puncture repairs, now there is no better way to finish a ride than with a mud run , if you weren't tired before that you defiantly were afterwards.
Finished the daywith a bit of a chin wag over couple of beers and on the road about five ish.
I would like to thank Steve and Sid for allowing us on their property and Steve for showing us around some stunning trails, we will be putting this ride into our calendar for next year for sure.
