Five Rivers Ride Sunday 16th October 2011

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to all who turned out for yet another fantastic days trail ride at Joe 90's on Sunday. The day was clear blue sky all the way as you can tell by the photos. A big turnout of 25 bikes with some shinny new KTMs on show as well. We also had some of the more proven bikes with a trusty XR200 and a KDX200 out to show they can still foot it with the new bikes.
The ride was a bit of a challenge in the morning with  a ride to the top of Joe 90's hill and a very steep drop from the top into the bush below. Progress down the hill was more about survival for some of us, while other's made it look easy. We would have our revenge when in the later part of the afternoon Joe lead the more experienced back up the same hill. Sitting on top of the hill it was easy to hear the two and four stroke engines grinding there way up the hill some with more style and less steam than others. The KDX200 made it look easy.
The mid afternoon part of the ride was into the Cromel Hut and back out on a greasy 4wd track with some muddy patches thrown in for fun. Some even took a swim in the creek crossings, bike and all.
Thanks very much to Joe 90 for access to his play ground, and the scones with jam and cream at half time hit the spot.
We now have 31 paid up club members so get in soon if you want to be a part of this great club.
The next ride is on the 20th November most likely at Happy Valley. Keep an eye out for more information closer to the date.
We are also thinking of having a river ride from Winton bridge to see how far we can get or a fun day and BBQ at Pebbly Hills. How many of you would be keen for that?

Cheers,
